Baptist Church Ladies Peanut Butter Squares

We call this recipe the Baptist Church Ladies Peanut Butter Squares because they were the ones who popularized this recipe. It is usually served after church during coffee hour. Every time there is a craft and bake fundraiser sale, the church ladies will present their signature dessert, the peanut butter marshmallow squares or better known as Peanut Butter Squares. I could easily remove the name Baptist Church Ladies from the recipe, but since they were the ones who I learned it from, I thought I should give them some credit.
My Aunt who used to run the Black Cat Ranch in Hinton, Alberta wrote a recipe book, and this is one of the many great recipes she treasures. It is a very easy recipe to make, and the peanut butter marshmallows combination gives the dessert a very nice texture, smooth to the tongue.
Basically, there are four ingredients:
– Butter
– Peanut Butter
– Butterscotch chips
– Miniature marshmallows
Peanut Butter and Marshmallows are great ingredients and there are many wonderful dessert recipes made with them. What’s even better is that they are gluten free.
