Honeymooning in Canada

International travellers made 15.9 million trips to Canada in 2010 contributing to Canada’s $29.7-billion tourism industry.   With the Royal Couple’s 2011 first official Royal tour for the newly weds, Canada has gained worldwide attention as the world follows the William and Kate on their 9-day visit.   Here, photos show Will and Kate visiting Province House, Prince Edward Island, home of Anne of Green Gables.   Province House,  is the second-oldest legislature in Canada, and is considered the Birthplace of Confederation, having hosted the 1864 Charlottetown Conference where the Fathers of Confederation first gathered to discuss an idea that eventually became the Canadian nation.

Before departing Province House, Premier Ghiz expressed his wish that William and Catherine would return to P.E.I. in 2014 to help the province celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference.
