This is a truly Canadian recipe made with hand picked crabapples, plums and berries from an abandoned homestead at Grace Harbour in Desolation Sound Marine Park made to an apple-berry cobbler. Crab apples are sour when eaten fresh, yet when baked, gives a sweet tangy taste. Easy to make, healthy and full of nutrients. Can be served warm with ice cream topping. This is a Canadian-Filipino variation of an omelette. Torta means omelette or pie and Giniling means ground. Tortang Giniling in this case is a pork omelette.
