Foolproof Yorkshire Pudding Recipe

This Christmas holiday, we have decided to have yorkshire pudding and prime rib instead of the obligatory annual  Turkey dinner.   The reason was forwarded by our turkey carver - it takes too much time and effort to dress and carve the turkey.  A prime rib roast is just as good and takes less effort.

Grace Harbour Apple Cobbler

Grace Harbour Apple Cobbler

This is a truly Canadian recipe made with hand picked crabapples, plums and berries from an abandoned homestead at Grace Harbour in Desolation Sound Marine Park made to an apple-berry cobbler. Crab apples are sour when eaten fresh, yet when baked, gives a sweet tangy taste. Easy to make, healthy and full of nutrients. Can be served warm with ice cream topping. This recipe was inspired during the summer of 2008 while cruising the BC Inside Passage to Alaska.

Tortang Giniling - Ground Pork Omelette

Tortang Giniling - Ground Pork Omelette

This is a Canadian-Filipino variation of an omelette. Torta means omelette or pie and Giniling means ground. Tortang Giniling in this case is a pork omelette. A good variation from the usual North American Ham and Cheese omelette and hash browns. If you like eggplant, try the Tortang Talong Giniling (Eggplant and Pork Omelette), another variation using the long Asian eggplant.
