James Bond 007 Christmas Party
I had a chance this year to attend a Corporate Christmas Party that is quite unlike anything I have experienced before. Called the James Bond 007 inclusion, this is a party professionally hosted by a corporate event planner. Guests dressed in their favorite James Bond characters. At the party, guests were given secret mission assignments and each table/group worked together to decipher codes, uncover clues, identify suspects, negotiate and barter for information, all for the purpose of completing their mission assignment. Towards the end of the party, final reports were handed in, and the group that got the most answers correct was awarded the coveted Agent 007 status - Licensed to Kill.
Several girls were dressed as Bond girls from the different Bond movies. One group was dressed as members of the Ninja Elite Assassin Force from the movie (1967) You Only Live Twice.
A different kind of fun, - corporate team building, negotiations, problem solving, thinking outside the box, -all these activities held within office hours during daytime, spouses or outsiders not invited.
Very different from the dancing and boozing kind of Christmas parties by some sales organizations or the warm-fuzzy-nativity-nostalgic-christmas carol singing party by the church.
This is not a paid ad, but just for your own curiosity, the event was hosted by Canadian Outback Adventures and Events, - Live Stories Worth Telling - specializing in corporate events and entertainment. Other variations of corporate parties that I have heard or attended include: Alice in Wonderland, Casino Royale. If you know of any others, please feel free to share via our comment box.

What does James Bond 007 have to do with Christmas. Canadian Outback Adventures could at least inject some Christmas spirit into their James Bond 007 inclusion event. Christmas is not about spying and ninja killing. It is about spreading goodwill and sharing. It is time for corporation to be more community oriented, eg. have some donations to food bank, etc. This 007 party costs a bundle.

Having the party in daytime prevents drunk driving and rowdy behavior. Having a lunch working christmas party has its plus points.

I would think that The Christmas Carol Scrooge would be an appropriate Christmas event since it can relate to corporate responsibillity - Business versus Goodwill and Charity. - A balanced lifestyle etc. etc.

[...] is especially true after experiencing an 007 Licensed to Kill Christmas Party. That party almost killed the Christmas spirit inside [...]

This sounds like an event right up my alley. It is very interesting that people can dress up in disguises posing as their favorite 007 character, and then they must decipher clues. Very ingenious and sounds like a blast.

My son, Greg, went to his Jr. Prom and the theme was James Bond. He won the award for best Bond look-a-like. Sounds like a great party.
