The Story of Ping and Pong

brainWelcome to My World, the e-Den.

Today is a Ping day.  I am blogging, that’s proof enough.  Most days, I am Pong, working hard, troubleshooting computer problems, one at a time. - sequentially, logically, rationally.

I remember being Ping most of my childhood days.  Everywhere I go, I would draw spaceships, aliens… I let my imagination go.  I speak my mind, I was outgoing, a freethinker.

One day, I realized Ping is gone, and I am Pong, all the way through.  You see, Ping is my right brain, and Pong is my left brain.    Pong is overstimulated and has taken over Ping, squashed Ping.

In the last year, Ping has gradually taken over.  Most days, Pong works during the day, and let Ping enjoy the evenings and the early mornings.  Sort of not fair to Ping, who wants to sleep in, as well.

Nonetheless, in today’s world, you need to use both sides of your brain in order to live a balanced life.   Today, I am Ping,  I bought some flowers,  I read some poetry, I cleaned my room…..

Yes, yes, I get it.  I have to exercise my right brain.   It is never too late.

Too much of the left brain and I am a dork.  Too much of a right brain, and I am wimpy.  Glad to be both Ping and Pong.  I am PINGPONG.
THE RIGHT BRAIN INITIATIVE!

Truly enjoyed the story of Ping and Pong. I am an accountant but I am also an interior designer and an avid gardener. But when I took your left brain and right brain test, I cannot see the girl spinning clockwise. I tried and tried. I guess my right brain is weaker than the left brain.

The left and right brain are just like the left and right hand. You need both of them working to be functioning properly. I never for one moment would think of using one hand only. Engaging the whole brain is the key to success.

That’s a cool test! I really saw it counter clockwise and at the same time was able to analize it the other way… but i can easily see it clockwise..am a right brainer!

If you want to understand more about the functions of the left and right brain and how it affects the way we operate, the book by Daniel Pink - Called Why Right Brainers will Rule the Future is worth reading.

Entertaining story about Ping and Pong. Ping must find a way to be balance with Pong. Ping should fight for itself. While Pong must also learn to be considerate towards Ping. Take and give, don’t overrule the other side for Ping. Life is about balancing.
